KLANG came together when Norman Adams and Joe Sorbara were in BC sharing their tabletop duo music with west coast audiences in June 2025. It had been some time since they had discovered that placing cello and percussion instruments on a large table offered access to a kind of focus they were both seeking in their music, and it was well time to play that way for friendly experiencers on the other side of Turtle Island.

François Houle offered to produce a recording session at Studio 2H before their performance at The Orange Light in Victoria and, after the duo session that produced the Coffee & Velocipedes EP (OWR013), the natural evolution into a trio session generated well over two hours of material that was soon edited and divided into two albums: KLANG 1 on Afterday Audio, and KLANG 2 on Oval Window Records.
