glen hall . tenor & soprano saxophones, flutes, bass clarinet
michael morse . bass
joe sorbara . drums, percussion
i first met the great improviser, glen hall, early in 2002. he soon called me to see if we could do some trio playing at the cameron house with michael morse on bass. the musical connection between the three of us was immediately evident; trio muo was born.
glen and michael have been friends for many years and, between them, have a vast knowledge of music and of the world. i am very pleased to be able to call each
of them friend and to have been able to play with and learn from them.
together we have played all over toronto as well as at kyle brenders' "our
series: sound limits, sound freedom" in waterloo, at the bop shop in rochester,
ny, and at the calgary jazz festival opening for the queen mab trio.
the first recorded document of our music is called angles,
and is available from tarsier records.
please go and check out the
allaboutjazz review of angles and the trio muo
page on
glen's website.
